That is kinda interesting in that less than 2 weeks before my attendance at Live Aid, I saw my ninth of nine shows on that summer's GD tour. Wonder what happened to me in those 11 days to change from a "raggedy drugged-out lost souls who aren't hip to today" into "an up-to-date young person doing something positive"....LOL

The thing I find ironic is that the "doing something positive" had little to do with Live Aid. For my crew, it was about the event. Seeing that lineup of artists (and what ended up being about 15-16 hrs of music and festivities)for a mere $35 was something not to be missed.
In short, it was a party. Not only for those that attended but for many of the millions that watched on TV. The fact that it was meant to raise money was coincidental.
That's my recollection of it anyway. Maybe I was in the minority seeing it that way, but I like to think that I was at least somewhat in tune with what the rest of my generation was thinking and doing at the time.
